DARE - Week 50!
Ahhh! Only two more weeks left of this book. We purchased our next book on Sunday which has 15 minute devotionals for couples. I'm so proud of us for making it through the year!! Well almost, two more weeks.
This week's dare is to begin praying together with your spouse. Use this time to thank the Lord and to bring your needs, and concerns to Him.
We have started to do this every so often, but this week we will focus on it more.
Also we have started to have no TV evenings. We read together or separate, get things done around the house, and it just seems to make us both happy.

Tax free weekend!
Hooray shopping for clothes. Not only were all the clothes I bought on sale, but I didn't have to pay taxes! Bought the husband some shirts for his football team, got some shirts for me, and some shorts. :) I may go again tomorrow with my little sister.
Also forgot to mention this weeks dare... It is to read from the Bible daily. I have not been doing well this week with the dare. But I did come home late yesterday to cooked dinner and my husband had the Bible out reading from Matthew.

Publix Update
It has been a while since I posted pictures of a grocery store visit. Today we didn't watch TV but read books and got chores and things done.
I had gone shopping, which I have still been doing well saving, and we started getting more healthy food, but this trip was not as healthy. I always get breakfast food for my husband, since he works so hard and so early in the morning. So pop-tarts going on sale was a must.
I was also excited that hamburger buns were on sale as they were already on my list!
I spent $25 and saved $33! Hooray!
Forgot to mention this past weekend I bought a printer!!! So now I can print more coupons!!! My older printer wasn't aligned and we could not figure it out, and since you need it to be aligned for barcodes, we decided it was time to upgrade. Plus it prints quality pictures!!

DARE - Week 48
This week's dare again mentioned finding a mentor and possibly going to counseling if necessary. My husband felt confused as this isn't the 40 day Love Dare but is the Love Dare couples for Newly Weds, but we thought about possibly seeing our Pastor and talking to him as we have not done this, and we could possibly use his advice on our next step in life.

DARE - Week 47
We are getting close to finishing our year of devotions. And the best part about it is I feel like I continue to find new things about my husband.
We went to dinner Saturday night and I am seeing how close my husband is growing with God. Not that he wasn't before, but surrounding yourself with church and devotions has helped us both grow deeper with each other and God. During dinner we also talked about family and how we will raise our children. My husband mentioned how we will be consistent church goers and more. I smiled wiped a tear from my eye, and completed this week's dare without knowing.
This week's dare is to find a specific, recent example when your spouse demonstrated Christian character in a noticable way and commend them for it.
I will still look and think of other examples, but I have been so proud of my husband lately. :)

Going to bed early.
Last night my husband did part of our dare by buying me flowers and laying rose petals to bed, where I got a massage after working another 10 hour day!!
Today I got much done and hung out with my Little Sister.
After I dropeed her off I went grocery shopping. I spent a little less than $55 and saved $40. It's nice to start saving again. =)
Still behind on getting coupons, but shouldn't take long to catch up.

Church is adding devotion.
Great sermon today, we are starting a new series focusing on the way the Lord's blessings are seen. How they mean something more and different than we would assume at first. To be more specific we are going over Matthew 5. The one verse I can quote from this section is "blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they will be filled."
So our pastor said at the end of the service that they will be posting questions to go over with your family on Wednesday for the next few weeks. www.access.tv/blessed. :)
By the way last night was our double date with my parents. It was quite nice and helpful. My parents are such great people, they really do want what is best for our marriage. I almost cried when they said things about how proud they are and so on.
We also saw went to the movies and saw Larry Crowne. It was suprisingly good and funny.

DARE - Week 44
We are in the 300 days of our Love Dare.
And I really like this week's dare, which is to go out on a double date with your parents. And the book has a section in the back for questions to ask about marriage while out on your double date.
We may not go out on the date this week as we spent a lot of morning on our fourth of July weekend at the beach, but we can plan it out. Would have also been helpful if we read this dare a few days before so we could have done it with my husband's parents before our weekend was over. Especially when we were out on the boat watching the fireworks, that would have been a good time. (oh well)

Running Errands
We are trying to plan another trip and decided this time we are going to board our Princess at a kennel. So I have been researching places and stopped by one today to find out my doggy needs a another shot but was able to make an appointment.
I also am in the process of witching jobs as my job is ending, but the new one begins a week before the old one ends, so I've been trying to figure that all out at work.
Left to come home and get Flo who tore up her fourth bed. (I guess she doesn't need one.) Got her shot taken care of and then wanted to drive her forms to the kennel to make sure she gets in before they are booked.
Came home to my husband washing dishes. =) Then I finished up my grocery list, and we headed out. My husband went to the kennel to set that up, while I headed to Publix. Then he met me there and I asked him to grab a cart and stocked him up.
With our Winn Dixie coupons and my lack of being focused on organizing my coupons, I decided to just stock up on things we use. So in two transactions we spent $43.02 and saved $48.04. And the trip consisted of lots of mac & cheese, doritos, bananas, muffin mix, ground turkey, salads, solo cups, burrito stuff, and more.

Sore weekend
I played sand soccer this weekend. It was pretty rough.
So once again I was out and about over the weekend. I remembered to pick up the newspaper this week though. I am behind on getting coupons and cutting them out, but I plan to organize my desk this week which will hopefully get me back to organizing my coupons as well.
Also being away makes me miss church but I am quite proud I have been listening to the services on Monday or Tuesday while I amat work. =) (access.tv) Like I said last week they are going over the book of Jonah and so far I am enjoying it.
This week we should also be starting our new small group! Probably the same people, but different study.
Also proud of myself for not over drinking at the beach with everyone who plays soccer in Lakeland. At least that's what it seemed like is every soccer player I know was there. Drunkenness is not something to be proud of, so I am trying to cut back as I often also find that things that I do when I am drunk often make me or others upset the next day.
Adding on to my goals/projects, I have been wanting to start a dog sitting service. My husband even talked about turning one of our rooms into a kennel room a few months back. And after trying to find a dog sitting myself and learning how difficult it can be I am planning to add on to the blog my services. And with the money I make I will turn that room into the dog room. =)

A rough start
After vacation I found it hard to get anything done or get motivated. I laid in bed for a while Monday thinking of what I needed to do, but none of it got me out of bed. I finally got up and decided to watch the sermon from church that I missed. Right now our church is in the middle of going through the book of Jonah.
The week I watched, focused on the first chapter of Jonah and how God provided a fish to swallow Jonah. For we don't know God's plan, and sometimes the things he provides for us we think our horrible, but we must go with it and trust he understands what is best for us. The sermon also focused on listening to what God says and not pretending it's okay to ignore little parts of what he says. God talks to us a lot, especially when we think is this a good idea. So we should listen and obey, before we drift away from God.
So I have some personal goals in my life that I am asking my husband to help with, so hopefully I can be come a more consistent person of who I want to be. Pray for me.

DARE - Week 41
This week's dare is to pray for the needs of your spouse. Say I love you even when it is difficult to say and express love in a tangible way. And to also thank God for allowing you to love your spouse unconditionally.

DARE - Day 280
Today's devotion was about being free to serve. Serving your mate freely and humbly, not keeping track or complaining. What I really liked about this devotion was the scripture that went with it.
Matthew 23:1-12
"1 Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: 2 “The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. 3 So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. 4 They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.
5 “Everything they do is done for people to see: They make their phylacteries[a] wide and the tassels on their garments long; 6 they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; 7 they love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and to be called ‘Rabbi’ by others.
8 “But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers. 9 And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven. 10 Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one Instructor, the Messiah. 11 The greatest among you will be your servant. 12 For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.
I really just enjoy references to Moses' time and how it describes hypocrites and calls servant's great.

Vacation Time
This week is going to be hectic, because next week we have a week long vacation with 3 planned events!
We have an Anniversary, Family Beach Trip, then a Wedding. Lots of money is going to be spent, good thing we started couponing.
This weekend we spent time with family and friends, plus the husband and I both worked for Memorial Day. Now we have our list of things to do before we leave. One big thing I got off the list was packing. I like to get this done after laundry and before I wear stuff for that week. We still have some things to pack, but one less thing is on my mind.
I have/had lots to do for work. Today being the end of the month, many things were do. Usually I don't put this stuff off until the last minute but the end of the school year is a little different. SO I have a bunch more stuff to do for work to make me feel less stress on vacation. Plus I have a job interview, and am volunteering at a potential work place. On top of that is our sister's 30th b-day!!! That will take up one evening or two. And before Friday I need to meet up with my best friend to take my best friend (Flo) for the week.
Oh the list of things to do to relax. =)

DARE - Week 38
This week's dare is to eliminate unrealistic expections (which I seem to often have). Apologize for having such expectations and beng hard on your spouse about them. Promise to understand and show unconditional love.
I thought I did really well with this yesterday. As I became upset with my husband over nothing big, and I thought about it and prayed and was able to apologize and go on with my day. Seems simple, but it was really good for me.
And my husband then proved he is amazing today! He came home not feeling well, but still managed to uproot an annoying plant in my yard, and put in my new Gardenia tree! =)

Saving & Diving
Yesterday I went shopping at Publix. I spent $21 an saved $20. I didn't shop or buy a lot because I am trying to save for our vacation coming up. And my husband went out with the guys last night for a "bachelor" party. (whole other story) Anyway I wanted to give him some cash to have fun, so I took it out of the money I had planned for groceries.
Today once he was home we swung by CVS and got a bunch of stuff for $3.36. Doing the math with extrabucks is a little difficult but we figured it all out and bought two things of nail polish, two things of bodywash, gum, and laundry detergent for $3.36.
Then we found a newspaper recycling bin and got some extra coupons! What was really weird is we found inserts from 2009!
Now a little about the "bachelor" party story, because why not? The wedding is 3 weeks away and this was the weekend they started to plan something for 3 months ago, but plans fell through. Then we never heard muh more until last weekend, and the plans were for the weekend before the wedding, which is a part of our vacation. So I told my husband that he should do something with the groom this weekend, so he doesn't feel bad for missing out. Well apparently a lot of people couldn't make it to the weekend before, and the wedding party minus the best man went out last night. It wasn't a bachelor party, but it was definitely a boys night out.

DARE - Day 255
This Week's dare is pray through our wrongdoings. Ask for forgiveness from God and your spouse.
Today's devotion talked about how problems in marriage can come from promises not being filled. Sometimes we forget we make these promises and other times we find other things interrupting and mixing our priorities. We build loyalty and trust by keeping our word, and we must watch to make sure we don't speak careless words. And keep it a priority to do what we say we will do.
I really enjoy these devotions, and want to continue them after our year is over.
I love my husband!

My Birthday Weekend
I did not post on Friday as it was the start to my birthday weekend and I ran around town getting things for my party. So I did my grocery shopping on Friday and saved more than I spent at Publix. =) I paid $36.01, and saved $42.50! I got some party decorations at the Dollar Tree, too.
Then Friday I had about 5 girls over playing games and having a party, while the boys went bowling. We played Mario Party, Rockband, Apples to Apples, and Catchphrase!
Saturday cleaned up for that party to have the both sides of our family over to celebrate. We ate pulled pork, celebrated and I picked out a Gardenia tree from my parents! My husband I were gonna go out but we were tired, so we played battleship, watched some TV and went to bed.
Today after church we went to lunch a matinee movie, and then went dress shopping for an upcoming wedding. We got a dress for basically 50% off, then I got my last set of silverware with b-day money and ice cream and came home.
This week we are saving money and working on planning our anniversary/vacation. Plus I'm still looking for a job!

Publix News
In addition to posting my shopping trip from this weekend, I recently found out Publix Official Coupon Policy has been announced. I heard this from Southern Savers and to give you a direct link to the post you can read about it here. Coupon Policy
It is also posted on I Heart Publix with many people commenting. Check what they posted about it here. Coupon Policy
Anyways, on Saturday I did a lot of shopping. I plan to have a party this weekend for my birthday so I have been buying chips and junk food lately. If it's BOGO and I don't have a coupon, I often still get chips! =)
I got a picture for this week, so I don't have to list it all.
So I spent a lot of money, but I got lots of things I want and some household goods I've been meaning to get. =) And I got a $50 gas card for $40. So that added into my total and savings on the receipt, I spent $93.16 and saved $67.90!!
Without the gas card that would be about $53 and $57 in savings. Plus I got beer for the Husband!

DARE - Week 35
This Week's Dare is to discuss anything you are Bitter about with your spouse. Whether it be against them or others. Then pray together and work on forgiving.

DARE - Day 243
I like this devotions analogy.
Houses are built brick by brick until the entire structure is complete, and this is the way walls are built between husband and wife. Each offense that you don't discuss building up a wall until you can no longer tear it down or see the other person.
So the best marriages are those that talk out each hurt and tear down each and every brick.

There's good mail and bad mail. I got some good mail that ended up bad yesterday, but today's mail made up for it. And I'm not talking about bills.
We have been waiting to find out what we are going to get back from our home owner's insurance. We were hoping to get a fair amount to cover the tree removal, fix the fence, and then some. They sent us the paperwork yesterday explaining how much we were going to get and what the estimate and deductibles are. We will receive less then the tree removal cost us. Fortunately not much less, but still we are paying out of pocket, so it's a good thing we went with the cheapest people that didn't seem reliable at first.
On to the next piece of mail, which I had been waiting for to plan our anniversary. We are a part of a group that gives us a time share once a year 3 days 2 nights. We have not used it before, but it let's us choose where we wanna go. So I received more information on where we can go and I fill out information and call for reservations. After three phone calls I reach a real person and tell them the information on the form and my choices on where I want to go. She comes back on the line to tell me she has no information on those places and that I can go to Orlando or Fort Lauderdale. I thought she meant to plan my trip, but no out of the 50 options I have they can only plan my time share at 2 places I don't want to go. She told me I could send in the form for more information, but they can't gurantee anything. I was very disappointed and upset that I now have no plans for our anniversary.
Today's mail the check came in from insurance, so it was nice to not have to wait any longer for that money.
And we received a letter with no return address telling us to have a good day. It contained a gift certificate to publix and was signed by "A Friend." I was so grateful I teared up.

DARE - Day 240
"Forgive us our debts, as we have forgiven or debtors." -Matthew 6:12
This Week's Dare is to forgive your mate of everything. And to say "I choose to forgive."
So this passage goes into the fact that if God forgives us our debts, then we should be able to forgive our debtors. They describe it as having a prison where everyone who has hurt you is kept inside. Then Jesus hands you the key to let them out, if you don't take it you stay in the prison stuck with everyone who has wronged you.
And your freedon becomes dependent on your forgiveness.
I am focusing long and hard on forgiving. I feel I can do it, but then if something comes up much like it again I think of it again and am reminded of the hurt. I don't feel I can truly forgive if I feel this way again. sigh. I am praying.

Saving Money! & Loving My Husband!
Two Publix trips this week one on Friday after work and one today after work. Plus I swung by CVS today, becuase my Extrabucks were about to expire.
Friday I purchased milk, bread, bagels, smaoked salmon, lunch meat, salsa, parmesan cheese, and powerade for $21.49 and saved $32.88!
Today at CVS I got two tubes of toothpaste, and sprees with coupons and $5 extrabucks I paid 50 cents and now have $5.54 in extrabucks!
Then at Publix again I purchased more salsa, tostitos, taquitos, pepsi, waffles, syrup, tampons, and shout detergent for $13.07 and saved $44.81!
So I spent $35.06 and saved $83.73! I feel awesome! (sorry no picture)
I also bought my husband some athletic steel toe boots for work as my "I love you" gift this week. The store keeps his shoe preference on record and it said size 9 but it ended up being wrong =( and we've had this problem before! Once again we have to bring them back and exchange them, I wish they would update their records! They also had our address wrong, which I thought I updated them on that too. =/

Publix trip coming up!
I haven't really gone to Publix this week, even though I'm super excited about smoked salmon being BOGO! But this week's ad is continuing on for an extra week, so I waited and got the dog food I needed. So glad I waited because my trip was looking to be kinda big, and Winn Dixie ad has $5 off $30 this week! So happy and excited to break up my list and save more money!!

DARE - Week 34
This week's dare is to lead your heart by getting your spouse something that says I Love You, for no reason. This gift is supposed to be as nice as you can reasonable afford. This will be interesting to see what we both think is reasonable on our budget. =)
I have an idea, but I'm not sure if it is considered a nice gift as much as something he needs. I may try it out, but I'll have to check the price first.

He has Risen!
Easter Sunday!
Yesterday's Egg Hunt went well, with over 5,000 people showing up. =) And I also picked up our free family photo we had done a couple of weeks ago. We are a good looking little Family! After a much deserved nap we went to dinner with a couple from our small group to Carrabba's. Another =). And we rented a red box and got a lotto ticket on the way home.
Today we went to our church's early service since things changed and my husband's family egg hunt wasn't until 5. After our service we came home then decided to take the hour trip to surprise my family.
We pulled up right around one and everyone was glad to see us, and I was glad to see the ham, dinner rolls, and scalloped potatoes. haha! After lunch we had a hunt with a twist. There was a limit to your eggs and each person had to find a smiley face egg. Then we basically had a yankee swap with our numbers that were in the smiley eggs. I got number 1!!! I started with a pin wheel, and ended up with a squirt gun. When asked if I wanted to keep it or trade for another item, my decision was answered by me running to the kitchen to fill up the squirt gun and shoot the person who ended up with the other one.... my dad! Of course we had to take it outside, but it was fun for the next five minutes!
From there we drove straight to my in-laws where once again there was plenty of food! Forgot our bathing suits, but the hot tub felt nice on my legs. This egg hunt is more intense as everyone is older than 20 usually. But this year we have a nephew who is one and able to walk so we are advised to leave eggs on the ground for him. Once I hear go I'm out and grabbing all around me, even a few on the ground. ;) (He isn't a fast walker and forty on the ground would have been impossible to carry right?) So I was doing well, when I hear the eggs with money in them are out front, so in seconds I am left alone in the backyard thinking now I will get the most and win! Well ends up getting the most this year didn't have a grand prize but I have my pride and my 71 eggs I can rub in everyone's face. It didn't seem anyone else got more than 40 eggs.
Total day rewards combined. Two meals in leftovers, lots of candy, a squirt gun, glitter pencils (my husband's yankee win), $3 from eggs at my parents, $2 in scratch-offs at the in laws (he got 5 but only one was a winner), and we came home to check our powerball numbers and found out we won $4!
Best Easter ever!

Can we say Super Husband?
I am tired today, and was yesterday as well. But yesterday I can back home from work at 4pm to a clean yard, and this is after my husband has worked from 5 am. So he must have got off early. He then cleaned up the house for company while I went to the store to get something they didn't have. =/ We got to relax about twenty minutes, but then his family came. After they left at nine, he told me he had to stay up until 10:30 for an online meeting. So we cleaned up and watched the Office. He went to bed a little after 11 and then got up at 4am to go to work again at 5. He is such a hardworker!!

Publix trip
I feel it was a better deal since the Publix I went to has a PIX gas station, and I got 3 cents off the gallon because I just bought my groceries!
I'll try to update ever week on what I get, but I may not always have a picture to add.
This week salmon goes on sale! Hubby will be excited, reminds us of our honeymoon having smoked salmon for breakfast!

Terrible Tuesday?
Every have a Manic Monday that sort of leaks into Tuesday and tries to ruin it. Monday night we had people over after I came home from work and went shopping. Once they left, I was super tired but really wanted to spend some one-on-one time with my husband.
Well next thing you know it's Tuesday, he is trying to get me to eat breakfast, while I am running late for work and trying to get out the door. Then I get to work to find out someone I used to work with and on my college intramural team died over the weekend. =( She was supposed to be graduating in two weeks, and then going to school to be a doctor. It was hard to get back to work after that, but my husband called and said he would bring me lunch.
He showed up with tacos from a delicious taco stand, and Easter Lilies! Plus after lunch he gave me a foot massage before I went back to work. He's Amazing!
Day 226 & 227
The past two nights I have enjoyed the devotion, it reiterates what I see as important. To not allow even little things to start to come between you, such as a friend that doesn't believe in God or even worse your marriage and encouraging you to spend time away from both. Or a show or book giving advice on how to fix things or what your life should really be like.
Then it goes on to say that you must do what is best for your spouse and self, which may mean setting boundaries. These boundaries help your spouse know that they come first before sports, shopping, and internet. Other things may come by that might give you more enjoyment and make you feelimportant, but find a balance that shows your marriage also comes first!
Twas a good night!

DARE - Week 33
This week's dare focuses on removing porn and other lust items out of your life.
My husband and I discussed this and do not have an issue concerning this, so I will discuss the movie FireProof based off of the Love Dare book. The true love dare challenge is for 40 days, with a different dare ever day. My husband and I received one that has 365 days for couples as a wedding present. For Christmas, Santa, who still visits my mom's house, gave us the movie Fireproof in our stocking. We finally sat down and watched it a few weeks ago. It was really good and emotional! (I cried) I remember this dare in the movie was hard for the guy to push past, but he did it.
The movie just proved to me more of how important God is in a loving relationship with your spouse.
P.S. Our Flo turned one this weekend! Her Birthday bone!!

Publix visit
Took me a while to catch up on coupons and get them together, but I went to Publix today and got more than planned, and didn't care since I saved so much!!
I got all this for $38.91 and saved $74.02!! Close to double what I spent! I made out really well on all the dog treats with the B1G1 Strips and then the free Bones WYB strips, plus other coupons. And last Sundays paper had free Birds Eye veggies WYB Birds Eye Viola, which was B1G1. All the other stuff is mainly to stock pile since it was a good deal.

DARE - Day 217, Week 32
Day 217 was a great message for all married couples, which of course end's up going into the next day/dare of the week. The title of the devotion is Love is a True Friend and it says how people who may undermine your marriage are not your friends, and to avoid opposite sex relationship that can pull you away emotionally. In the end, your true friend should be your spouse. If not, work toward it, because my husband is my best friend and it can't get much better!!!
The next devotion on Day 218 talks about not sharing the secrets of your spouse and not talking badly about them, because this makes them vulnerable. You should avoid telling others their faults, as these are things you share with your mate to grow together and release shame.
So this week's dare is to remove anything that attacks your relationship such as addictions and influences that can be stealing your heart from your spouse.

Full Weekend
I was going to post on Saturday, but it was super busy.
I've been complaining lately that I haven't got new clothes since Christmas, which were all gifts. My husband said he wouls take me shopping!! Before that we went to Wal-mart to meet with some members of our church and hand out flyers for Lakeland's Largest Easter Egg Hunt. (http://www.egglakeland.com/) So we were shopping and I had about three things, when I turned to my husband and asked what my budget is. He said $200! Oh how I love him. I only got 3 tops, shoes and leggings and didn't spend too much because I can't bring myself to do it anymore. So after lunch and shopping we only spent about half the budget he gave me.
After that I made a card for my Little Sister's birthday and went over there to enjoy cake and water balloons. Well I guess I didn't actually enjoy the water balloons.
Filling up my tank then cost $70. =(
I then dragged my husband to a baseball event for work, which he wasn't excited about until a friend of his decided to come too. So after watching half the game and cheering we went out for a bit since it's my husband's weekend off.
Church on Sunday was good. Talked about sharing God's love through your story. In other words, don't defend something you love, but invite other to know your love and share it with them. http://www.access.tv/ They do a great job!
We had donated to the volunteer fire department several weeks ago with got us a free family potrait. So Flo, the husband and I got ready after church and went there.
We then took a nap before my husband played in a tournament. ;)
Now just cutting and organizing coupons!

DARE - Week 31
This week's dare is to honor your spouse even in times of disagreement, and to commit to seeking godly counsel for any issues causing trouble in the marriage.
We did discuss a problem we have at times with our schedule. We do not have a permanant solution, but we realize it is there and are working toward fixing it by realizing our issues.
I love the uplifting music at my church and the message. This week we discussed going all in with our faith. Our pastor discussed how God may not answer your prayers the right way or answer them at all, but it is important to know he has a purpose. I really liked how he said when something bad has happened don't ask God why, but ask why not.

DARE - Day 209
This devotion is titled "Love walks through the valley"
This one was important to me, because it discussed what to do when a spouse struggles with depression. Often I have shut down from episodes of depression and if you know how this feels it is hard to get out of it especially when others are telling you you "have" to. The devotion says depression can lead to sinful thoughts and actions, but it's not a sin to feel discouraged and stuck in this. It says spouses should realize that this is a time to refrain from criticize and questioning your spouses mood, but to pray for and with your spouse.
I am not posting this to feel my spouse is to help me, but to remember that this devotion gives hope and suggestions for when I or my spouse may feel low and need God.
By the way, tree still on the car had to take the husband to work. Lot to do today, hang out with Little Sister, pick-up husband, get quotes on tree removal, be home for insurance guy, and maybe go to the grocery store.

Not Hurricane Season yet!
So today I heard there was bad weather in Tampa, but the news said it wasn't coming our way when I watched it at 8 am. Then around 11:30 I could see it was coming our way, and as I was on the phone at work it hit! The window by my desk was dark and I could not tell which way the wind was blowing, and every few seconds some debri would hit. I went father into the office and was talking with co-workers about it, when I returned to my desk I had a missed call from the husband.
He made sure I was okay and told me that a tree fell in our yard. I was amazed and didn't know the storm was that strong. Then he said it landed on his car. OH NO! REALLY? I would have left then to head home, but I had to wait until things were calm outside, and by then my husband had told me that branches and trees were down everywhere and blocking streets. So I'm supposed to finish my day at work trouble free? When I did make it home I took lots of pictures, and as I did the tree was continuing to settle on the car. Isn't it lovely?
Oh yea and I also came home to our power out, but it was only out for four hours. Just came on a bit ago, but I think we are about to leave and get a drink to escape a little bit.

DARE - Week 30, Day 204
This week's Dare is to be commited to loving your spouse even if they don't love you back. Say "I love you. Period. I choose to love you even if you don't love me in return."

Getting Sick
I've been feeling sick, but my husband did not make it into work so he is helping me get things done.
This morning I used most of my energy and went grocery shopping. I thought I made out great today, with hot dogs, cresants, cheese, fruits and more for about $18! Saving me $47!! I know other people are better at this than me, but I feel accomplished if I save more than I spend. I have to say Publix taking competitor coupons really helps, and I was so excited when Winn Dixie's $5 off of $30 came in the mail! I plan to go again this week and spend another $30 to save some more.
After I got home I felt bad for laying around the past two days and my husband and I took Flo to the park. She got super dirty digging and running around, we never seem to stay long b/c she just runs in circles until she can't breathe.
Now I am drained of energy for the rest of the day. So we are going to relax, and watch some Dexter.

Lazzzy... DARE - Week 29, Day 197
This Week's dare is to pray and read from the Bible, spending special time with God.
This morning I started the book of Luke, I'm reading it to Flo. I plan to read a chapter a day, but didn't realize the 1st chapter was long, and will have to finisit later today. haha!
Yesterday we played soccer with Flo. We thought about a walk, or the dog park instead, but I laid out three of her toys giving each one an activity and told her to decide. I thought it was funny, she even sniffed everyone, before picking one up.
Anyway after soccer I went for a short jog, and was able to be consistent in my speed. Score!

Kayaking!
Yes, I know I haven't posted in a while. Our dares have been about getting close with God still, which I need to work on, but I feel I am doing much better.
Today our small group met up and we went kayaking as a group. We larned more about each other, one couple flipped, one girl almost hit a tree on the rope swing, and my Husband and I saw a gator! It truly was a great time, and you know you've found a good group when you all decide to go out for dinner afterward! Really was a good time.
Plus yesterday went to the beach with two of my three best friends! My husband and friend/sister, only thing missing was Flo. And we got the best custard ever! And went out with my parents for dinner!
Life is just great. Soon to be watching season 4 of Dexter.

DARE - Week 26, Day 176
This Week's Dare is to ask God to show you where you stand in Him, and for strength and grace to settle your eternal destination. Also focusing on knowing that you need God to give you the ability to love.
I added that last part b/c it goes with the devotion message, and the Dare asks you if you have realized how much you need God.
The devotion says "Love is Impossible Without God," and unconditional love (agape love) is not possible for a us without Him. People have trait that make it too difficult to love unselfishly and unconditionally. But God can, so if we ask Him to be in our hearts we are able to know His Love and to work toward it.
-This really gets to me! I often find it difficult to Love unconditionally, so I find it somewhat reassuring that I can't. It is something I do want to strive harder for though, so this week I will work on our Dare and my Love. =)

Special Dinner
Tonight I came home from scrapbooking/work to my husband making shrimp and scallop skewers. He also had a large loaf of bread, some peppers and onions chopped up, rice-a-roni, and asparagus. He was doing a great job, but I decided to help him out, since I was hungry and some things needed to start cooking soon. But we sat down to a lovely meal and my husband started talking about a bunch of things, and then said wait aren't we supposed to talk about something specific. =) I didn't mind b/c he doesn't always choose to ramble like I do, but I enjoyed our conversations.
We had a lovely evening together and finished our meal, then watched the rest of Dexter season 3.

Small Group 3
We really enjoy our small group, and it was pretty long last night, but enjoyable. As I have said before we go over the book Wild at Heart by John Elderidge, and this week we read chapters 3 & 4.
My husband and I went over the questions before going to small group, and I am really glad my husband opened up more to me. One of the chapters talks about men being wounded by other male figures when they are boys and they are trying to figure out if they "have what it takes" to be a man. My husband shared a wound, that he knows isn't that bad as others may get, but it hurt him, and he also knows that when it was said to him the person immediately regretted saying it. I will not share as I am working on keeping my husbands secrets. ; )
Anyways it was nice to hear him tell me more about growing up and why he is the man he is. *Learning something new* I love my husband and am glad even if didn't share it all during small group, that we shared together. =)

DARE - Week 24
This week's dare is to make a special dinner at home. And during that dinner take the time to get to know your spouse more, discussing things rarely talked about and so forth.
We plan on doing half of that tonight, by reading our small group book and eating dinner at home, but it's not really a special dinner.
Today I walked 3 miles with my sister-in-law. We did this last week, and are trying to get in the habit again. I'm a lot more tired this time then I was after our first walk.
We had also gone to a couponing class hosted by A Crazy Mom together on Saturday. I went shopping yesterday and spent $24 and saved $54. Well my sister-in-law said she went today and paid about $35 and saved $100! She said it felt so good, and I know her husband is proud, b/c he was hoping she would start couponing.

Feeling Accomplished
Today I got organized at work and got a lot of stuff done. I left an hour earlier to get home and start on some cleaning since the family is coming during the weekend. I started to clean up the front room and decided now would be a good time to organize my desk. So I have my scrapbooking stuff in cubbies, sewing stuff, cards and coupons! Hooray!
Then when I was bringing up the trash can, I noticed the lawn people had not come by yet, so I started to put moss in the yard waste can. Then my husband came home and we tackled a big project together. Our driveway has not been touched in years, in fact our yard reaches out further because of the dirt and leaves and has become a part of our road. (kinda sad) So my husband raked up about five piles, that were much bigger than they looked. And we filled up about 15 bags of leaves and dirt, which only made a slight difference because in the mist of where those leaves and dirt were is a dead tree that draws your attention. But what was great is as soon as we finished up and went inside, I heard the yard waste truck coming!
It ended up being a good workout and one less thing on our list!
My semi-organized desk/craft center in the office.

And remember this was the before shot of the space/closet

DARE - Day 164
Last nights Dare was about studying your spouse and learning about them. It starts talking about how you have learned about enough to get a diploma form high school about your spouse, but you should continue to get a degree, graduate degree, and doctorate about your spouse. The more you learn, the more you can bond and love your spouse for who they are and trust them.

Valentine's
Yesterday was Valentine's day!
I stayed up late the night before cleaning our room and doing laundry in the dark while my husband slept. I left him more socks for work for when he woke up!
I had a Dr. appointment, then spent a lot of time looking at job and working. My husband apparently sent a package to the office, but they didn't come by until 20 minutes after I left. My husband got off work late and came home to me with curled hair. He brought home flowers, but didn't have time to make dinner. So we thought we would try and go out to dinner (big mistake). Fortunately we assumed this and wrote down what we wanted, so when they said the wait was 90 minutes, we called in and order to go. So we drove by my work to pick up my Edible Arrangment, eventually got our food from Outback and went home and made a candle light dinner with flowers, and wine!
We read the devotion much later that night, when I remembered and woke up the husband.
This Week's Dare is to keep you spouse's secret and pray about them.

DARE - Small Group
Our Dare for this week, goes with the ending of last week which is to pray for your spouse's heart. Focusing on three areas where they may need guidance or help.
I have been enjoying praying more lately than ever before! It has really started to give me a peace about things.
Tonight we had small group which again was enjoyable. We had read two chapters of Wild At Heart and discussed it with questions about how we feel God has brought us to new adventures with this book and group. It was very comforting to hear my husband talk to the group when they started talking about new adventures in marriage. And he said he is learning to be a man and a provider now, but also remembering that work isn't a life, but a way to life. The group discussed keeping our priorities straight, as well as having a community of like-christians; which we have started with this group. I got excited when we talked about some adventures we may go on together. Overall a great group and a good night.

Oh Wonderful, Glorious Day
Last nights devotion, DAY 154, was a good one. It stated how the book is not gauranteed to change your spouse. It continued by talking about loving your spouse and praying for them so they may understand your love and what the book is teaching you.
So then it had questions and the first one was how often do you pray for your spouse, and the husband answered daily. So after I asked him when he prays and how. And he basically talks about things in his head to God. I told him I would like to hear him sometime, but I understand it's just between him and God. So instead we decided to pray together for our relationship, in our head while holding hands. It felt so nice to both uplift each other in prayer at the same time. <3
As far as the weekend goes, we had a bit of a speed bump at the begginning, b/c we planned to go to the beach. We used to be able to take our dog, but can't b/c she has gotten bigger. So I was really upset, b/c I wanted to relax and I feel like I can't do that at home when there are s many other things I want to get done. But I was able to relax as we rented Dexter, and although it's not too relaxing we got our groceries for the week. (So glad the husband came). Spent $52 saved $67!! We planned a weekend with my brother and his wife. And just went out together and spent time.
DARE- from last week's dare, our rules for when we we fight are to not yell, fight in public, and not bring up the past (which we clarified what this meant). I need to work on not fighting over my own issues.
This morning, the husband woke up to walk Flo with me. Then packed my lunch, and left a reese's cup hidden in my lunch bag. =)
Other than all that I can't help but feel depressed lately, just trying not to let it change my everyday too much though. =(

Small Group
Last night's small group was great! And I think I remember everyone's names!! We got to know each other some and played a few rounds of a game called Mafia. Fun game and I thought I was pretty good at it but I could be wrong. I'm just excited to hang out with other couples like us.
We have to go get the book Wild at Heart and read two chapters by next week.
Also I was very glad my husband enjoyed small group. I told him last night how I knew he had good morals, but I didn't think he was much of a Christian. (I know sounds rude, but it's good to be honest.) He told me that he has grown to be more Christian because of our relationship and me. Oh my Beloved!

DARE - Week 21
This week's dare is to talk about rules to follow when fighting together and to establish some of your own. I feel like this was brought up in a previous week, but I don't think we talked about it or made any rules.
Tomorrow night is small groups! We are to bring a dish to snack on, so I am making a fluffy dip, and since vanilla wafers were buy one get one free, bringing those along to dip. The dip is really simple and amazingly good. It is a jar of marshmallow creme and softened cream cheese mixed together. (that's it!) Great with wafers or to dip fruit in.
By the way stocked up on deodorant today for the husband. At CVS, Axe deodorant was buy one get one 50% off and I had a coupon for buy one get one free. So I tried it and the "free" deodorant was the one I paid full price on. So each stick of deodorant was only $1! Yea there are probably better deals, but I like the smell of Axe.

Full Weekend.
My husband got home late Friday and said Saturday would be worse. But we had dinner plans for Saturday night, so I told him he should call in. So we went out Friday night ended up just the two of us sitting talking downtown, which was nice.
Then we were able to get my desk Saturday!! Hooray! We were able to put the first part of the desk together then had to get ready for dinner. Dinner was elegant, and I got the spicy dish. (whoops) We took both our parents to a fine Italian dining place, and we paid! It was pricey, but our parents paid for the bottles of wine. (I told my husband as long as our kids do this at some point, hahaha.) Once we got home my husband fell asleep while I watched Mega Python vs. Gatoroid. I share this hobby with my brother of laughing at ridiculous scifi movies. And I think we got my dad starting to watch them now too.
Sunday we got up early but took our time and went to the late service of church. I walked the dog, while my husband watched church from last week and finish putting together my desk. <3 Oh and he made me hot chocolate in the morning. The church series continued with the Marriage part, it was a great message and I am glad we watched it together.
The rest of my evening consisted of cutting out coupons, family lunch, finishing a digital scrapbook for my grandma, starting to organize my desk, and watching Incredible Hulk on TV.
Hopefully this week goes by fast. I know it will for my husband. He had jury duty this morning and they already let him leave, and he only works two more days. Plus this week we join our first small group with our church!
Anyway we plan to go to the beach on Friday and Saturday and spend Sunday together at church, soccer and end with rest. =) Can't wait!

DARE - Week 20
This Week's dare is to honor and respect your spouse! It says to do more than normal, but I'm really having difficulty finding other things to do besides telling him how much I appreciate what he does for us. (which is what I normally do) Also I feel like some of these dares are hard for us to do, because we already do them, and they seem to tie up with previous dares.
I'll just continue to work on honoring my husband. One thing I have heard in church and have tried to focus more on is how women often talk about their husbands and bad habits they have or things they might say. When co-workers or friends begin talking about something their husband/boyfriend did or didn't do, I try not to pitch in with a story, but think more about what my husband did for me recently, like washing the dishes.
This morning I actually woke up before 7 and walked Flo. I walk her at least once a week, but I haven't been getting up early to do so, so I've been a little late to work. She is doing great on our walks! Love her!
Unfortunately the past three time I have walked her I have noticed pain around my knee. (not cool) I guess that's what I get for no longer exercising frequently.
Yesterday, groceries continued for this week, spent $45 and saved $33. Which I would have saved more, but now that I am saving money by couponing I buy other things like wine and cheese! =)

DARE - Day 139 & 140
Church was awesome today, beggining the series with "Love." I brought back out my notebook "Boys have Cooties" from my high school breakfast small group. The message was how we treat Love like a noun, something we need to receive and feel. But we need to make Love a verb, something we do and give to others!
Well we did not get a desk last night. =( We walked ALL the way through Ikea, which I would have enjoyed if I had half a day or so and we get to the warehouse to grab my desk and it's out of stock! So we decide we will order it online, and the main piece is out of stock online too! Grrrrr.
Went to the grocery store after church to grab some things, but did not have all my coupons. So I grabbed some things on sale spending $11 and saving $22. Went through the paper when I got home and am planning my trip to the store again tomorrow.
Waiting for the husband to get home, so we can go to Sunday lunch. =)
"BELOVED"
This word was in our devotions yesterday and today. I love this word because of the book Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. (If you haven't read it, it is amazing. I don't read much but I have read that book twice!) Anywho, our devotions talk of how God calls us his Beloved and loves us unconditionally. The next days talks about how Beloved should be our spouses name now. <3

Like I said last week, I love Saturdays!
If I could feel like this everyday it would be great. I can't sleep much past 8 am because of my dog, but I'm glad she woke me up so I could enjoy this day!! Thank you lord for such beautiful days.
Walked the dog this morning, and helped my Little Sister with a school project. Her project was on Influenza, and I learned that Influenza comes from the Italian word influence, because they thoughtthe disease was an influence from the stars.
=) Today we are going to get my desk at Ikea, and hang out with the husband's friends in their new house!
=) Tomorrow church starts the series, "Love, Marriage, Baby Carriage" and small groups are announced.
I am super excited!

Extra Money
We bought our house last year near the end of May before we got married. Then at the end of the year we filed for Homestead.
So our Escrow had an overage of about $1,000! Checked with my dad to make sure this was for real, and then made a plan to spend it. My dad of course suggested taking them out to dinner, and I said if he comes up. (which he will. =) )
Anyway now I can get my desk for our office! We are also going to replenish some of our vacation fund! And put the rest toward payig off our Rain Soft Water. (We plan to pay it off in the year, before interests jumps.)
Hooray Money!

Short Vacation
We just got back from our Ski/Snowboarding Trip, and picked up our pup who we missed soo much. I decided to Ski while my husband learned to board. I started to learn 3 years ago, but figured it wasn't worth it. We had a blast on and off the slopes! I do feel bad though that we only went boarding one day, I need to make that up to my husband.
I really liked our dare Day 133 "Love Leads"
It talks about not following your heart but leading it! You must choose to love your spouse, and eventually by leading your heart it can make the right decisions and you can follow it. When your love is just a feeling you are following, it is temporary. You need to costantly love and lead your heart so you do not stray.
This weeks dare is to neglect an activity you normally do to spend time together with your spouse doing something they enjoy.

DARE - Day 127
Last night's devotion was about having rules before you have an altercation. There are "WE" rules and "ME" rules. "WE" rules would be something like not fighting in public, or not bringing up past situations. While "ME" rules would be like I will not raise my voice, and I will not address his problems before addressing my own. (I need a rule like that)
I need to work on my "ME" rules.
On a side and not too separate note, I really think I should make a pray box! Somewhere to put my prays, to write my rules, to forgive and let go, and to give things to God so I no longer carry them.
This week's Dare is to basically let your spouse win. Give in, and let them have their preference kind of thing.
This week's Goal to make a pray box. And to pack for our Snoborading/Ski Trip, which we leave for Thursday evening. West Virginia!

Church - 472,686
"That is the number of people living within driving distance of our church that don't attend church anywhere. These are our neighbors, co-workers, family members, friends, waiters, cashiers, doctors, teachers, classmates.
What are we going to do to reach them?" (http://www.access.tv/)
My husband and I discussed becoming foster parents, we will pray about it. But wouldn't that be cool. We also talked about starting one of the small groups, since the pastor mentioned special interest ones. Maybe dog lovers, or I could do a craft one? Who says you can't make a scrapbook while talking about Jesus. We have not become a part of the church yet so I wouldn't feel comfortable, but we are getting ideas for the future.
What are we going to do to reach them?" (http://www.access.tv/)

Saturday, husband working
No offense to my husband, but I kind of like when he works Saturdays. I don't like to run errands while he is relaxing at home, so when he is at work I can get some things done and I can hang out with my Little Sister.
This morning I went grocery hopping after organizing my coupons. I have used a few coupons before, but this week I made a list and kept track of the money I was spending. I was so proud of myself when I realized I was still under $60 that I grabbed a few more things and donated a dollar. I bought a $104 worth of groceries for $65!!! And I haven't even got the hang of couponing yet. Publix rocks! Check out iheartpublix.com if you want to learn more about couponing. Or as the husband says cupins. =)
So after I did my grocery shopping I picked up my Little Sister to go to this wildlife rescue center in Auburndale. But of course I had the wrong address, and drove around for an hour (literally) calling my mom trying to figure out how to get there. Well, if you wanna go it's actually at the flea market!! I thought that was weird. It isn't that exciting, but it's only a donation of $2 to get in and see TIGERS! (my favorite, RAARRR!) Wildlife Rescue
Once I got home from that, I took Flo for a walk (she was good and got hot dogs), and still had about 10 minutes before my husband got home from work! I <3 Saturdays!

DARE - Day 122
Funny thing:I sat down on the floor to read the devotion while playing tug-o-war with our Puppy and I read the title of tonight's devotion Love Lets Others Win. Then of course I let go of the rope and looked at my husband who had a cute smirk on his face. (Yes, it would have been better if I won, and the dog let go on cue.)
So the devotion goes on to talk about how we are naturally stubborn, but we must be "willing" to favor our spouse's opinions to demonstrate love.
This week's Dare is to find a need in your spouse that you can meet this week. A gesture that says "I cherish you."
I have not been able to think outside the box lately so I am meeting his need of massages every night. Yes, I normally do this, but he has been working harder this week, and I don't usually do this daily.
Oh yeah and last night we had an extra passage from Song of Solomon. We found Song of Songs, but for some reason didn't realize it was the right book until I read my chapter introduction in our study bible. Thanks NIV Study Bible for helping those of us who just remember the stories, but not the specific scripture and books they came from.

Happy New Year!
2011! Ever since I started dating my husband I have never got to kiss him at midnight on new years. But last night, even though he works today, he woke up to kiss and toast the new year with me. It's going to be a good year!
I want to talk about resolutions. But first, not sure if I mentoned this week's dare about doing something out of the ordinary for your spouse that proves to them and you that you love them by choice. Well I guess I am not sure how to go about doing this, trying to think of out of the ordinary, brings up ordinary ideas for me. So I've been doing some weird out of the ordinary things, but necessarily things that say I love you. Just weird things that make my husband laugh, I guess that will do this week. =)
So I want to do better things with my time. So resolutions are to walk my dog, start working out, possibly volunteer more, read some, and go to church more consistently. My work out plan will not go into affect until I start walking my dog close to daily. Walking my dog is my most important resolution, once I get to four days a week I will begin looking into a work out plan. All my other resolutions have already been started, I just need to continue focusing on them, so I added them to my resolution list.
Moving on, I asked my husband if he had resolutions, he said he never really did new years resolutions. This kind of upset me some, but what he said after makes sense. He changes things as they come, much as I have been doing. He plans to think of some things though, because he said he has until Jan 3rd. =)
All I want to do now is set up our budget for the year and write up a list of things that happened in 2010!
